Deadly construction accident in Plant City

There was a fatal accident at a home construction site in southern Hillsborough County on Friday morning.

The sheriff's office said Daniel Wiggins of Riverview was measuring while walking on scaffolding about 5 feet, 4 inches above the ground at 9438 Swiftcreek Circle in Plant City. The foreman said he saw Wiggins fall off the scaffolding and hit the cement floor.

Wiggins, 49, died at the scene.
