A tale of two accidents
Tuesday, November 8, 2005
Two Pasco County teenagers are injured after police said they were hit by a car in a Port Richey Wal-Mart parking lot early Tuesday morning.
Police said the driver of the car, 24-year-old Christopher Goldstein, left the scene and was involved in another accident in New Port Richey.
Officers said Goldstein lost control of the car and crashed into a home on Linder and River Road. After the crash, police said he ran away, but was later caught by a police dog.
A mother and her two children were asleep when the car crashed into their home.
"I was really scared," the mother said. "My son's room is behind mine. I was just a couple of feet over. They would have ran into my bedroom and my son was in there with me. I thank God these houses aren't made of wood or else my son and I would not be here right now."
One of the teens was airlifted to a nearby hospital, while another was transported by ground. Their conditions are unknown.
Goldstein is being charged with leaving the scene of an accident with injuries and driving with a suspended license.
